Evening on Oak
It's another 19th century autumn night on Oak Island in Lake Superior. Ma and Pa are sitting up late while the children have gone to bed. The baby fusses, but Ma hums a melody to sooth him while Pa passes the evening carving a small toy. Upstairs, the boys are starting to drift off, but can't help a few whispered conversations.
