Tranquilus
Tranquilus is a small, coastal town in Maateru, Kheeban's central continent. It is named for a Latin word for "tranquility." Its sprawling shallows are a favorite vacation spot among the veyluu, and a breeding ground for the clams that produce much of the region's currency in the form of their pearls. It was also the site of the planet's final war, as well as the Visitation, the dividing moment in veyluu history. A large bronze medallion set into the center of the town's main plaza commemorates this event. These are the sounds of sunset, as the nocturnal creatures in the jungles to the east wake up, and the local veyluu gather in the village along the coast.
